Aley Child Development Center is a non-profit organization operated by Aley United Methodist church as a service to the community. Aley Child Development Center (CDC) has been open since 1979. The Center provides pre-school, full-day care, and before- and after-school care. The Child Development Center is licensed by the state of Ohio to provide care for children 18 months through eleven years old. Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Morning preschool and pre-kindergarten are offered from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Transportation to Shaw Elementary School is provided for school age children by a Beavercreek City School bus. The center is located in the lower level of the church.
The center provides an environment of Christian love, understanding, and respect to help children prepare for and be successful in school and develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. The preschool program is academically based. The daily program includes large muscle activities, small motor skill development, group experiences, music appreciation, concept development, language development and an introduction to computer usage. Children are encouraged to explore, create, and grow as unique individuals. A hot lunch is served daily and snacks are served in the morning and afternoon. The children sing or recite a prayer before lunch and snacks.
As required by the State of Ohio, all staff members are trained and certified in first aid, communicable disease recognition and prevention, and child abuse recognition and prevention. Our teachers are qualified caregivers who continue to receive extensive continuing education on current issues in early childhood education.
