The Care Partners
Ministry
The Care Partners Ministry
is concerned with giving Christian love and
care to individuals in our contregation. A Care Partner
is a person who is gifted and equipped to provide
loving careto fellow church members. They are committed
to PACE - (1) to Pray for their flock regularly, (2)
be Available to them, (3) Contact them at least monthly,
and (4) be a Christian Example, following the example
of Christ. The supportive relationships that develop
are beneficial to both the Care Member and flock member.
Involving laity in caring for each other not only
increases the level of personal contact, but also
provides a structure through which care partner can
use their gifts in intentional, meaningful ministry.
We invite you to participate in the Care Partner Ministry,
either as a flock member or as a Care Partner. For
more information, contact Karen Engel at 426-3988.
Health Ministry
The health ministry promotes healthy lifestyles and
aids in coping with illness through Christian love
and discipleship. It provides care to the congregation
in a number of ways including focusing on health promotion
in order to prevent disease, helping people to cope
with present illness and find healing through Jesus
Christ, educating to promote wellness and spiritual
support, providing screenings, assisting in advocacy
and finding local resources for members of the congregation,
promoting personal responsibility, training and coordinating
volunteers, and home, hospital and shut-in visitation
(A complement to the Lay Pastoring Ministry). For
more information on this ministry contact Kim Weisenberger
through the church office.
The "Lend A
Crutch"
The "Lend a Crutch" ministry works like
a lending library, but not for books! The purpose
of "Lend A Crutch" is to lend medical assistance
devices such as wheelchairs, canes, crutches, or walkers.
If you have need of this service or have something
you can lend, just give Karen a call at the church
office.
Care & Share
The Care and Share is an informal Christian support
system consisting of members of our church family
who have been through a difficult experience and are
willing to "walk alongside"
others who are going through a similar situation.
They are not trained counselors; they are caring people
who want to offer a listening ear because each of
them has once felt what someone else is now feeling.
Situations and contact persons are listed in a brochure
which is available in the literature rack in the lobby
adjacent to the sanctuary. We also have a listing
of area support groups which may be helpful.
Care Notes
Care Note booklets cover a variety of topics in family
care, elder care, grief and loss, health care emotional
life and spirit care. Care Notes booklets provide
comforting advice and consolation for people in many
situations and provide guidance and care for the difficult
transitions in life. Aley Church makes these booklets
available free of charge to the congregation. Racks
displaying selected topics are located on the wall
at the top of the stairs near the sanctuary, in room
208, on the wall in the hallway downstairs by the
children's classrooms (with topics for children) and
in the library (with topics for teens). Check the
racks regularly for new topics!
Aley
Church wants to be Gods
love with skin on for you. If
we can be of assistance, please call the church
office. We will do all we can to assist you.
Hi Care Partners!
Below are links to electronic
versions of the Lay Pastor/Care Partner and Shepherd
forms. Some people prefer to use their computers
to do paperwork. If you are one of those people,
this may be of use to you. They are Word documents
(Word 6.0/95 (doc)). These forms are not intended
to replace the traditional forms, but rather to provide
another avenue to do paperwork for those who prefer
the computer over a pen. You may print out the
forms in duplicate or triplicate (depending on the
form) and turn in as usual.
