EQUIP
Do your best to present
yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to
be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
II Timothy 2:15
We
want our youth to be thoroughly equipped to do every good work.
We have a variety of oportunities for you to study the Word in
order to effectively grow in your relationship with God &
to minister to others.
Sunday School runs each week from 9:45 to 10:45 for Jr. High (6-8
gr) & Sr. High (9-12 gr). We also have mid-week classes for
these age groups;
EQUIPPING EVENTS
"Equip" is the Aley youth word
for discipleship. Through discipleship we prepare ourselves for
works of service in the world and for ministry within the body of
Christ. We get the principle of discipleship from the Great Commission
in Matthew 28:19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you " We get our word "equip" from
Ephesians 4:12, "..to equip the saints for works of service
and for building of the body of Christ." Equip is one of our
5 purposes because we need our students to be strong young men and
women for God, ready and prepared to do what is right in every situation
and to have a ministry mindset.
We have lots of ways that we equip our students.
1) Each week at Sunday night UMYF we have 25-30 minute discussion
on relevant topics such as temptation, acceptance, rebellion, respect.
2) Each week the Jr. High and Sr. High meet for Experiencing God
and Krateo respectively. During these weekly meetings we discuss
many important aspects of our shared faith.
3) H.A.B.I.T.S. These are personal discipleship materials that students
are encouraged to use on a daily basis.
