Membership Matters
When a person becomes a member of Aley Church, he or she:
- Professes faith in Jesus Christ as Lord as Savior,
- Promises to be loyal to The United Methodist Church, and
- Promises to participate faithfully in the life and ministries of Aley Church by his or her prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
The 1-2-3’s of Membership
The 1-2-3’s of Membership help us live out our membership commitments.
- We are pursuing ONE MISSION: to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world (Matthew 28:19-20).
- We share TWO GREAT LOVES. We love God, and we love others (Matthew 22:37-40).
- We live by THREE SIMPLE RULES (Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church, ¶103):
- Do no harm.
- Do good.
- Stay in love with God.
- We serve in FOUR MISSIONAL ARENAS: Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth (Acts 1:8).
- We are committed to the FIVE PRACTICES of fully devoted followers of Christ. We:
- Worship with others weekly,
- Participate in a transformational small group,
- Practice the spiritual disciplines,
- Are growing in giving toward a tithe, and
- Serve from a sense of calling.
