Karen Engel
Karen serves as Director of Caring Ministries at Aley Church.
Family: Karen and her husband Jim have two grown sons, Mike (Vicki) and Scott (Annette), and three grandchildren, Jarett, Brian, and Michelle.
Hometown: Beavercreek, OH
Educational Background: Karen studied at Beavercreek High School, the University of Dayton, the Dayton Art Institute, and Sinclair Community College.
Career Background: Before becoming Director of Caring Ministries, Karen had served as a trained lay pastor/care partner at Aley Church since 1989. She worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Monarch Marketing while attending the University of Dayton, and worked in Mad River Schools for 25 years before retiring in 2005.
Hobbies: Quilting and helping her husband with the garden railroad in their backyard. Karen is also a licensed HAM radio operator.
Best part about her job: Showing God’s love and training others for intentional care giving
