ALEY'S VISION STATEMENT

Love God.

Love People.

Make Disciples.

At Aley we strive to ensure that everything we do is centered around these 3 principles; love God, love people, and make disciples.  The principles are intentionally placed in this order, we cannot fully love people and make disciples if we do not first love God.  Likewise, we cannot make disciples if we do not first love God and love people.

Who We Are

Aley Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. Aley Church is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.

Our ministries and staff are organized around five strategic areas that help us live out our mission...

Inviting: Called by the Great Commission, we will share the Good News of Christ in word and deed. We will lead people to Christ, help them to accept Christ as their Savior, and bring them into the fellowship of the Church.

Worshiping: We will provide for and encourage public and private worship which glorifies God, deepens our relationship with God, and supports and enhances all the Goals of the church.

Discipling: We will facilitate the spiritual journey for all who come into our fellowship through prayer, the Sacraments, Bible study, education, nurture and Christian example.

Caring: We will provide an atmosphere of love, support, and encouragement as we live out our faith. We will live out the one another’s found in the New Testament. We will love one another, pray for one another, encourage one another, and bear one another’s burdens.

Serving: We will equip and actively involve our congregation in ministry, responding to human needs wherever we find them. We will seek out opportunities for serving, then facilitate and support service through time, talents, and physical resources.

Where We're Headed

Aley United Methodist Church nurtures the current congregation in growing, deepening, and strengthening their relationship with God. Aley also strives to grow God’s kingdom by attracting and supporting new generations of believers and people who are seeking a relationship with God.  We seek to become disciples who make disciples.

UMC Mission Statement

The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by proclaiming the good news of God’s grace and by exemplifying Jesus’ command to love God and neighbor, thus seeking the fulfillment of God’s reign and realm in the world. The fulfillment of God’s reign and realm in the world is the vision Scripture holds before us. The United Methodist Church affirms that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the Lord of all. As we make disciples, we respect persons of all religious faiths and we defend religious freedom for all persons. Jesus’ words in Matthew provide the Church with our mission: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you” (28:19-20), and “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind. . . . You must love your neighbor as you love yourself” (22:37, 39).

This mission is our grace-filled response to the Reign of God in the world announced by Jesus. God’s grace is active everywhere, at all times, carrying out this purpose as revealed in the Bible. It is expressed in God’s covenant with Abraham and Sarah, in the Exodus of Israel from Egypt, and in the ministry of the prophets. It is fully embodied in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is experienced in the ongoing creation of a new people by the Holy Spirit.
