LOCAL

Being involved in the community is a vital part of ministry at Aley, there are people here who need our help and need to know that someone loves them and cares about them as people.  We have several local ministries that we are involved with and partner with to help reach and build relationship with those in the surrounding community.

Feed the Creek

Feed the Creek (FTC) is continually collecting food items throughout the school year. FTC sends home food items each weekend during the school year so that Beavercreek youngsters will not go hungry over the weekend. This year there are approximately 300 bags of food sent home each weekend! Aley has a Little Pantry in the parking lot that allows individuals to come take (or leave) food as needed. We try to keep a supply on hand so we can refill the pantry when it's empty. For more details about Feed the Creek and what is currently needed, click herePlease donate non-perishable food for the pantry by placing it in the bin located in the Welcome Center.

Additionally, there is a little pantry located in the back corner of the parking lot near the cemetery. At these locations students are encouraged to take what they need as the community is encouraged to drop off what they can provide. Check out a mini-pantry near you to see if it needs restocked!  (There are also mini-pantries at each Elementary and Middle School and some fire stations).  To see items needed in the mini-pantries, click here.

If, instead of donating food items, you would like to “adopt” a child, it’s $30/month or $300/yr. Checks should be made out to Feed the Creek and mailed to 4011 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH  45431; or you can adopt via the website at www.feedthecreek.com

Dayton Dream Center

The Dayton Dream Center is a non-profit outreach center dedicated to providing support and resources to the people of Dayton affected by poverty, addiction, abuse, joblessness and educational opportunity gaps. In efforts to provide opportunities for people to rebuild and transform their lives, the Dream Center offers the tools, education, community, and support through various programs available, all free of charge.

The Dayton Dream Center provides multiple free meals weekly in addition to opportunities for showers, laundry service, clothing, and after school ministry. There are periodically opportunities to serve at the Dream Center with Aley (keep an eye on the 'Get Involved' page!), but they are always in need of volunteers so please reach out to the Dream Center if you'd like to serve more frequently!

St. Paul's Breakfast

St. Paul's is a ministry for feeding the homeless.  When it is our turn to serve this ministry, we provide several breakfast casseroles, fresh fruit, milk, and orange juice.  On the morning we serve, we meet at Aley and transport the food to St. Paul's where we serve those in need.

Check out the 'Get Involved' page to see if we have an upcoming opportunity to serve at St. Paul's.

A few times a year we also provide a lunch for those in need at St. Paul's.

Family Promise (FP)

Family Promise, which has the Schneider House of Hope, is a shelter for families experiencing homelessness. Aley provides meals for the families every other month. There are often odds and ends jobs that need done at the residence at well, if you're able to help please email the office to get connected!

REGIONAL & GLOBAL

Aley is involved in and supports outreach and missions regionally and globally in addition to locally.  We believe God's love and grace are available to ALL and we strive to share that regardless of geographical boundaries.

MIV DRT

Miami Valley Disaster Recovery Team (MIV DRT) is comprised of volunteers from various churches in the Miami Valley, OH area.  The team has prepared volunteers to assist victims of natural disasters on short notice while also providing spiritual care. Aley has long had a strong connection and leadership role in assisting with response to disasters including flooding and tornados both locally and in other regions of the U.S.

When volunteers are needed,

some roles of assistance include :

  • Deploy with the disaster trailer to assist with general disaster relief (certification training required)
  • Assist with debris removal
  • Use your truck to pull the trailer when responding to disasters.
  • Donate the use of a skid loader, bobcat, or other needed equipment.
  • Prepare food for deployed volunteers
  • Provide a listening ear for spiritual care

If you can't help out physically, donations are always welcome to support MIVDRT in its mission.
